(From White Belt to Black Belt: A Journey Through Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Legacy)

In the heart of Brazil, I embarked on a journey in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Under the guidance of my cousin, Amilcar Cipili, a respected 5th-degree black belt, I dedicated myself to the art, training tirelessly and pursuing excellence. Earning my black belt marked the culmination of countless hours of dedication. Competing on grand stages, I amassed titles and medals, connecting to Jiu-Jitsu's spirit.


 Realizing my responsibility to share knowledge, I opened Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Summerlin. Teaching young practitioners brings me immense joy, as I see their rapid development in skills and dedication. From the white belt to black belt, my life has been a remarkable journey, honoring the enduring legacy of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Chris Pewitt's journey into Gracie Jiu Jitsu began in 2019, under Professor Andre Almeida's tutelage at Gracie Jiu Jitsu Summerlin. From the moment he set foot on the mats, he was captivated by the art's grace and power. Over the years, he dedicated himself to the sport, becoming a skilled practitioner and passionate advocate.


Today, he's not only on a continuous path of self-improvement but also serves as a coach, guiding others in the world of Jiu Jitsu. His belief in the transformative power of the sport, both physically and mentally, is unwavering. Chris embodies the idea of constant improvement, inspiring others with his dedication and passion. His story is a testament to Gracie Jiu Jitsu's enduring legacy and positive impact.

Michael Jacinto's BJJ journey began in 2017, driven by a passion for self-improvement. In 2019, he joined Gracie Humaita Jiu-Jitsu, mentored by Professor Andre Almeida. Today, he holds a purple belt, reflecting his skill and commitment.

Beyond personal achievements, Michael is dedicated to teaching the next generation. His story is one of passion, perseverance, and the relentless pursuit of Jiu-Jitsu mastery.

After devoting hours of research and even more hours worth of trial classes, we fortunately found Gracie Jiu-Jitsu in Summerlin (on Fort Apache). My 9-year-old started taking classes 6 months ago and has loved every single hour of training. Unlike sports and academic commitments we’ve made in the past, our son has never needed a reminder or encouragement to prepare for and attend class. He’s dressed, ready and excited for each and every class. Professor Andre creates a culture of discipline and respect for the kids with fun and games (at the tail end of class) as a reward. He and his team of awesome fellow coaches (most of whom have kids in the class) are highly effective and supportive with the kids and tailor their tone and approach based on the age, skill and personality of the kids (not an easy task).
